Advisor's Statement
“As the Academic Advisor for the Technical Association of the Graphic Arts (TAGA) Student Chapter of Rochester Institute of Technology, I am proud to say that this year’s student production has been a true success and a meaningful experience for our students as they prepare to participate in the Annual Conference.
This year’s achievement is especially significant. Our team is composed of an exceptional group of students from the Department of Packaging and Graphic Media Science, as well as the School of Design, representing both undergraduate and graduate programs. The level of collaboration, creativity, and technical excellence demonstrated throughout this process has been outstanding.
TAGA is a club, not a class, and that makes the time poured into this work even more remarkable. Balancing academic and personal responsibilities with the demands of club production is no small task, yet our students embraced the opportunity. Personally, TAGA has always held a special place in my journey. While studying Printing Management at Rochester Institute of Technology in 1993–94, I actively participated in the TAGA student club. During that year’s Annual TAGA Conference, I was honored to receive first place for Best Student Poster—a formative experience that highlighted the value of creativity, collaboration, and professional engagement early in my career; so it is fulfilling to now be an advisor and see my students experience satisfaction in their own achievement, as I once did.
As an advisor, I am incredibly proud of our students’ performance and adaption to challenges along the way. I am deeply pleased with the work accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to support our group. Their commitment and passion lead to masterful and professional results we are excited to share with our fellow chapters. I look forward to the time when we can return to the conference in person, within the safe and enriching environment that has always characterized the Annual conference.“
